Her diverse experience spans faculty positions at Capella University, including Chair for Public Administration and research faculty, and leadership roles in healthcare information technology (HIT). Notably, she served as the Implementation Manager and Manager of Information Systems for Columbia University's Informatics for Diabetes and Education Telemedicine (IDEATel) Project. This eight-year longitudinal study provided case management services to patients with diabetes and other chronic comorbidities, including those who experience barriers to access to care or a high burden of illness. Dr. Hilliman played a key role in implementing and managing the project's HIT infrastructure, ensuring its successful operation and contributing to the study's significant impact on improving patient outcomes.
